Outdoor LED Lighting

What is it all about? Is it really this good? Isn’t LED lighting blue, green, too harsh? Is it for me?

As the world’s premier outdoor lighting company, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Northern New Jersey has become the expert in LED lighting.

We are outdoor lighting specialists, and we can speak with expertise about LED lighting as it applies to what we so dearly love: creating beautiful, unique, and customized outdoor lighting décors.

The LED technology was developed when the need arose for a high light output drawing a minimum amount of power. It has been in use for many years. By example the On/Off light of your cell phone or laptop is an LED light, among so many other applications; in these cases, color and quality do not really matter. However, the richness and the color rendering are essential in outdoor lighting.

The questions on everybody’s mind are about color and quality of the lighting. One of the main concerns being that LED is always very bright and that LED lighting has a different color tone – bluish and cold. This is not the case any more. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives has access to warm and beautiful LED lamps (technically, bulbs are called lamps in the industry).

The Color Rendition Index (CRI) is very close to matching the CRI of a halogen lamp and the Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) warmth has been dropped to an average of 2,700 to 3,000 degrees Kelvin bringing it within range of the halogen technology.

Color temperatures over 5,000K are often referred to as cool colors (colors with a bluish tone), while lower color temperatures (in the 2,700-3,000K range) are called warm colors (from yellow to reddish tone).

Our LED lamps are in this range with a CRI of 82-86 and in a CCT in the 2,700-3,300K range depending on the intensity required by the design or the particular application. This versatility gives us an almost endless array of combinations to pinpoint a specific detail, highlight a definite area, or softly create a background drop for your property.

Ask us about LED designs; you will be amazed by the awe-inspiring options at our disposal. And if you care about being “green,” you are about to do our Planet (and your purse!) a lot of good.
